Ernie Scofield | Sled Warehouse Rant

I guess I've been spoiled by good online e-commerce sites like Amazon but I'm really steaming about a gift we bought for Terry's grandson Tommy this Christmas.

December 16th

The evening of the sixteenth Terry said something about Little Tommy wanted, more than anything, a sled for Christams this year. I did a little math and figured we had plenty of time to order a sled online and have it delivered to Maryland where Tommy lives. I had been ordering other gifts online from "real" businesses and knew the deadlines for several sites were still a few days away for Christmas delivery. Checked Amazon and came up emprt for a sled so off to Google. A search turned up Sledwarehouse.com. The page looked nice enough and since I would be using a no liability Visa card I figured what the heck and went to order.

First clue

No shoping basket, you could only use PayPal. I was in deep now so I went ahead and placed the order..

The money left the credit card the next day. I checked because I'm used to getting some sort of comfirmation from the seller by email when I order something. Foolish me.

The long wait

Needless to say Christmas came and went, no sled. I checked their website which said they would be closed until December 26th. On December 26th I attempted to call the number on the website. It was perpetually busy. Saturday I get a email shipping confirmation from UPS. This is a shot of the ticket after eventual delivery...

These slack bas#$*!s didn't ship the thing 'till the DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS!!!

In the end

things turned out alright. When Terry called Tommy the day the sled FINALLY arrived, he was screaming with joy. At four years old this is a Christmas he'll never forget.

Evidently these folks at Sledwherehouse have a day job at the Motor Vehicle Department where they learned their customer relation skills :-)
