On August 23 2008 I bought a Ruger LCP brand new and on the following Wednesday I took it and a box of ammo to the range. On round number 60 the trigger mechanism malfunctioned (broke). So much for Ruger reliability I'd heard so much about. In their defense, I guess anyone might get a lemon and the factory mailed a shipping label to me without delay. The pistol is now back at Ruger for repairs. When it returns, I intend to make it a housewarming present to a friend who just bought a new home. I carry a pistol for self defense and refuse to carry one which has failed me. And yea, the friend knows the history.

Today we just returned from our New England cruise aboard Royal Caribbean's Grandeur of the Seas. It was a grand ship and a grand cruise but so far I've never had a bad cruise.

Last week was a little different. Wednesday both Terry and I attended formal pistol training including concealed carry training. I figure it's like bowling. Target practice once a week 'till we shoot all 10's.

I was notified at work day before yesterday I had 127 annual leave hours I had to take before the end of the year. You see, we can't carry over more than 400 hours of annual leave to the next year and by the end of the year I would have 527. So I took today off. We decided on lunch and a movie. We saw WallE from Pixar and I'm no movie critic but if you are trying to decide between this and another movie, pick the other one. It was OK but just OK.
