The closing was supposed to happen today but due to situations beyond my control, it has been postponed until Thursday, September 1. I am beside myself. I'm all moved in with very little furniture and refuse to go shopping until the check is in the bank. Something about counting chickens and eggs hatching.

I'm on this kick to see if I can do most of what I do on a computer entirely with my Macintosh machines. Right now I'm writing this web entry with TextEdit on the Mac. I tried several different applications I downloaded and absolutely none of them were to my liking. Most of them mangled my code, some had no spell check. On the PC I've been using a great application called TextPad. I've gotten used to being in complete control of the code and XHTML validation is important to me. On the web Dreamweaver was suggested so I checked and the thing was as big as Microsoft Office

Home Sweet Home, maybe...

The Mayflower

One week and counting. The closing draws nearer as I continue to move possessions to the Mayflower. This evening we went for a swim in the indoor pool. It was raining to beat the band outdoors. They had left the roof vent open so it was raining in the pool. What an experience, the heated water and the cold raindrops.

For some unknown reason I checked my hotmail inbox today and it contained an invitation form Microsoft to participate in a beta test of OneCare. The installation went quite smoothly in admin mode and I'm running a full test in the background now. I'll keep 'ya posted. Now it's off to find a newsgroup for beta testers.

An old friend

I sold my tractor today. I remember going with my Dad to buy that tractor when I was five years old. It's like losing and old friend. The fellow who bought it is young and has just moved to a small farm. I hope it serves him half as well as it served two generations of this family. It was a 1952 Ford 600. The year I was born.

It's official. A call from the realtor last Thursday set my closing date as the thirtieth of this month. I've decided to take the last two weeks of the month off for the move. Terry and I have been moving things to the new diggs a little at a time each trip but there is still an awful lot to do.

I spent the long holiday at The Mayflower. As a matter of fact Terry and I have spent every weekend there. I have no doubt I'll learn to adapt. It's quite a nice place. Both indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs which are never crowded. Lively night life courtesy of the taxpayers. I've been paying taxes all my life so it high time to cash in.
