Just got back from signing the lease at The Mayflower. It's a grand old high rise apartment building across the street from the ocean here in Virginia Beach. Received a certified letter yesterday stating the developer wants to delay the closing sixty days. I have mixed emotions about all that but I did pick up more deposit money per the sales contract. I intend to spend the night at the new apartment Saturday if all goes according to plan.

Just finished watching our illustrious City Council on cable TV. This was the last hurdle the developers had to vault. It wasn't a shoe in by any means. The vote was four to three in favor. Close huh? Next up, closing.

Quite a large development in the "Sell the Farm" saga. I put down a deposit on an apartment on the tenth floor of the Mayflower Apartments. One block to the ocean, indoor heated and outdoor swimming pools, all the modern stuff. Come to think of it, I've never lived in a home with central heating and air conditioning since I left my parents home. The "good life"? We'll see

The verdict from the Planning Commission is in. Unanimous approval! One more step on the local government ladder. Next up is the City Council. The closer this all gets the more anxious I become. Moving will be a huge hurdle.

Last week an update occurred in the "Sell The Farm" saga. First, a crew showed up to do soil samples for an engineering firm, then a fellow from planning who drives members of the Planning Commission around said they were all for it. The next step in the formal Planning Commission meeting on April 12. I'll keep you posted.
