Side Job
It's a new project at work. Like it says in the personal section my primary job with the city is Fire Inspector, but I've been drafted again. This time it's to move a database to SqlServer. The department has traditionally used a "coloring book" to track conditions imposed by the City Council on parcels to be subdivided. Now it's to move to an electronic GIS application. The database for conditions began to be kept in MsAccess two years ago. My mission is to move it to SqlServer with an MsAccess front end for the time being and later to develop a web based data entry system with active server pages. We're an all Microsoft shop.

Who in the world would want a license plate reading I AM EVL? I guess they think the DMV doesn't charge enough for plates in the first place. I've been working on some database stuff at work and a re-do of this site in XHTML 1.0 Strict and a single style sheet. I guess it's time to look ahead not back.
